Wouldn’t it be great if you could just walk in sit down and talk to the prosecution about your Missouri DWI case? Explaining to them that you had a few drinks but that you really weren’t driving while drunk, like the arresting officer said. And you certainly didn’t violate Missouri DWI law. Plus, you promise you won’t do it again. So the drunk driving charge against you should just be dropped so you can get on with your life after paying some reasonable fine. But I can promise you, that isn’t going to happen. At least not in that way. Because the Prosecution’s purpose is to prosecute you to the fullest (put you in jail) and take your license away for as long as they can. In fact, if your DUI case goes the wrong way the penalties you face include losing your license for 30 Prosecutorys to a year, to five years, to ten years or for life . . . your insurance is going up three fold or canceled . . . and you could even go to jail for up to 3 to 6 months or more. Plus, it doesn't end there. A conviction for violating Missouri State's DWI Law is something that could haunt you for many years to come, even hurting you when you apply for a job. I want to tell you, though, that with the right defense by a Missouri DWI lawyer, the scenario I just described doesn’t have to happen. My name is Lawrence E. Wines. I'm a DUI attorney here in the St. Louis Metro area. I focus on helping people just like you to resolve their (State / County or Municipal) DWI charges.
