Michael J. Wilson currently practices law with the prominent Omaha firm of Schaefer Shapiro, LLP.  Mr. Wilson specializes in DUI and criminal defense representation.  In addition to criminal defense, Mr. Wilson also represents clients in various civil actions including personal injury, bankruptcy, and family law matters.  Mr. Wilson is licensed to practice law in Nebraska and Illinois.

Mr. Wilson received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, then graduated from the Michigan State University College of Law with honors.  While in law school, Mr. Wilson served as an Associate Editor for the Michigan State Law Review and clerked for the Federal Public Defender (Omaha), the United States Attorney (Chicago), and the Chief Judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals.  After receiving his law degree, Mr. Wilson moved to Chicago where he served first as a legal aid attorney, and then as an Assistant Appellate Defender for the State of Illinois.  These positions afforded Mr. Wilson the opportunity to achieve positive results for many clients appearing before both the Circuit and Appellate Courts of Illinois--clients accused of everything from DUI to murder. Today, Mr. Wilson employs that expertise in his Omaha criminal defense practice, having successfully represented clients before numerous county and district courts across Nebraska.
