Stephen E. Guss, PC

If you have been accused of a criminal offense or have been arrested in Virginia or Washington DC for DUI/DWI your constitutional liberty interests are at stake.

Virginia has some of the nation's most stringent penalties for people who drink and drive. Virginia DUI/DWI Laws target repeat offenders and drivers with high Blood Alcohol Content levels (BAC). A person convicted of a third DUI/DWI conviction within 10 years, is a felony punishable by one to ten years in a penitentiary and would have their car seized by the state and in addition their privilege to drive would be revoked by the trial Judge and the DMV. The General Assembly has past and the Governor approved a mandatory jail term of five (5) days for first offense with a BAC of 0.15 or 20 days in jail for a second offense. If you are arrested within three (3) hours of a crash, Police can arrest without a warrant at any location. A magistrate can deny bail for repeat DUI/DWI Offenders with three convictions in the last five years. Virginia law requires that an ignition-interlock system be installed on cars driven by offenders who receive a restricted license for a DUI conviction involving a minimum 0.15 BAC. You will want an experienced criminal defense attorney to protect those rights for you.

We have experience aggressively defending the rights of people arrested and accused of a variety of criminal offenses including: drunk driving, refusal to take blood or breath test, Reckless and Aggressive Driving, Speeding Cases, Driving with Suspended or Without a License, License Revocation vs. Suspension, Habitual Offenders, Speeding to Elude a Police Officer, Hit-and-Run, Involuntary Manslaughter, other traffic offenses and drug possessions.

If you are arrested for a criminal offense, you have the right to an attorney. We are experienced criminal defense attorneys and have the experience necessary to deal with arraignments, discovery, and preliminary hearings, as well as the actual trial. We can also plea bargain for you if we deem that is in your best interests. You need an attorney who will be straightforward with you and aggressively defend your rights. Our office provides personal attention and will work with you to determine what option is in your best interests.

If you are in trouble with the law, the Law Offices of Stephen Guss has the skills and experience you can trust. We have successfully defended the rights of hundreds of clients and we will aggressively defend your rights.
