People v. Metz6/21/2002 with a longstanding problem with alcohol and a lengthy history of crime.
Appellant's main argument seems to be that he was just "warehoused" in state prison, and he will continue to be a public danger until he receives alcohol treatment. But the sentencing court noted that appellant's prison term would be brief, and appellant-hopefully after realizing the consequences of his actions in the "completely different world" of prison-could enter the Jericho Project upon release. Appellant's alcohol treatment will follow a justified term in state prison. We see nothing arbitrary, capricious, or unreasonable about the trial court's decision.
III. DISPOSITION
The judgment and the state prison sentence are affirmed.
