Dawson v. State2/14/2001
argued that Comegys's current cooperation with the police, or her willingness to testify for the government at Dawson's trial, stemmed from the favorable result of these two prior arrests. Rather, Dawson merely contends that these arrests were relevant to impeach Comegys's statement that she had never previously been in trouble with the police. Offered for this purpose, the evidence added little to what the jury already knew.
For these reasons, we uphold Judge Andrews's ruling. Alternatively, assuming that this ruling was error, we hold that the error was harmless.
Conclusion
The judgment of the superior court is AFFIRMED.
