| Celebrities continue to have terrible luck spinning the DUI roulette wheel in recent years. Lindsay Lohan, Scott Weiland and Keifer Sutherland are all struggling to remain sober while behind the wheel. |
Celebrities have been having terrible luck spinning the DUI roulette wheel recently. Beverly Hills Superior Court issued a warrant in March 2009 stemming from Lindsay Lohan’s 2007 DUI and hit and run case, according to reports by DUI lawyers in Los Angeles.
The reports that have been released state that the warrant was issued due to Lohan not complying with the some of the courts requests.
Her attorney Shawn Chapman Holly has stated that the warrant is a misunderstanding. Lohan herself has said the warrant is untrue and it could hurt everything that is going on in her career.
Ya think so, Lindsay?
Holly stated that Lohan has been complying with all the terms of the courts orders and the three years of probation she was placed on.
Another DUI Casualty
According to reports during sentencing last month for misdemeanor driving under the influence charges that occurred in November 2007, Scott Weiland was given 192 hours to serve in jail and was given until May 28th, 2008 to complete the sentence. Also, as a part of his sentence he was ordered to attend an 18-month alcohol program along with fines that total nearly $2,000. He was also placed on a four-year summary probation.
Weiland reported to the Van Nuys lockup to begin his sentence that was ordered to be completed by May 28th, and by 7:00 p.m. he was free. He had served ten hours and an actual fourteen minutes in a cell.
The November 21st, 2007 arrest stemmed from an accident in which no one was injured on an unnamed Los Angeles highway. According to their reports, when the police arrived at the scene Weiland showed signs of being intoxicated.
Keifer Sutherland continues to have problems with the law.
The star of the television drama '24', is currently on probation for 2007 conviction for DUI in California. It was his fourth arrest for driving under the influence . It is not known if the incident in New York involving an alleged head-butting of clothing designer Jack McCollough will be considered a violation of his probation agreement.
While at an after-party for a costume gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 4, Keifer Sutherland confronted and then head-butted clothing designer Jack McCollough. The alleged assault left McCollough with lacerations on his nose. Sutherland claimed that he was only coming to the assistance of actress Brooke Shields, saying that McCollough had knocked her over. That motive came into question however when Shields' spokesperson said nothing had happened between her and Mr. McCollough.
We hope these much celebrated stars can manage to get their acts together and stop mixing drinking and driving.
