A Los Angeles city attorney has decided to file charges against a former wrestler and actor for a DUI incident that occurred earlier this month. Continuing the unstoppable spate of recent celeb DUI walks of shame, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, known for his antics in the wrestling ring as well as the movie They Live, will face criminal charges after being arrested for DUI on July 2 in Hollywood, California. At the time of incident, the wrestler was charged with one misdemeanor count of DUI and one count of driving without a valid driver's license.
After his arrest that night, Piper was taken into custody and held on bail for $5,000. He was released later that morning at 8 a.m.
If he is convicted of these new criminal charges, Piper could reportedly face a maximum of six months in jail as well as a $1,000 fine.
At the time of Piper's arrest, WWE Announcer Jim Ross said it appeared that "some are making a federal case" about the wrestler's DUI arrest.
"Again, don't get me wrong, DUI's are serious business, but luckily there was no accident associated with this incident and no one was injured," Ross said.
