DUI ADVICE
1. Try not to drive alone after drinking. Have a favorable witness in your automobile.
2. Use eye drops for bloodshot eyes.
3. Use strong breath mints after drinking.
4. Do not take a portable breath test - you are not required to do so by law.
5. Do not take any field sobriety tests. You are not required to do so by law.
6. Indicate that you are confused about your legal rights.
7. Ask for an attorney before questioning after Miranda warnings are given.
8. Never admit that you have been drinking, how much you drank, or what you were drinking.
9. Ask to have implied consent warnings fully read to you by the police officer. Ask to see them under a light.
10. Ask to get additional breath tests or blood tests at a hospital.
11. Be courteous regardless of how rude a police officer may be toward you.
12. Do not use profanity. Instead, ask a law enforcement officer about his or her training with the BAC Datamaster.
13. Do not blow hard into the Breathalyzer. If you do, it will then provide a higher than normal reading, which is not to your benefit.
14. Admit that you have been taking prescription drugs or over the counter drugs.
15. Try to eat substantive food when drinking.
16. Stay in the slow outer lane if you must drive. Avoid the freeway as much as possible.
17. Always make sure that you auto does not have a broken window or taillight.
