Welcome to The Law Office of J.T. Borah. We are committed to providing you with the attention necessary to meet all of your legal needs whether they are family or criminal in nature. We pride ourselves on offering professional attention to every case, no matter how big or small. As well, we strive to build trust and confidence in our clients so that they are not intimidated by the legal process. At The Law Office of J.T. Borah, our clients come first, and we will do what it takes to defend and uphold your rights.
We have made a conscious decision to limit our practice in three different ways. First, we limit the types of cases that we take to only those dealing with family law and criminal law. Every area of the law seems to be constantly changing either by decisions of the Texas Legislature or by any of the sixteen Courts of Appeals in Texas including the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. It would be impossible for anyone to keep up with all those changes occurring in every area of the law on almost a weekly basis. By limiting our practice to two areas of the law it has allowed us to become adept in these two areas of the law.
Secondly, we limit the number of cases that we take so that we cannot be viewed as a "volume" law firm where you are just another number. On the contrary, we represent a limited number of qualified clients. For many people a divorce or a criminal charge is one of the most painful, stressful, emotionally debilitating and dehumanizing experiences they will ever suffer. Our desire is to minimize the toxic effects of these types of legal problems on our clients, their children, their extended family, their jobs and other far reaching affects that problem in these areas of the law can have.
Thirdly, we limit the geographical location of the cases that we take to Denton County only. This should be important to you so that you can feel comfortable about your attorney's knowledge of the Denton County courts, judges, administrators and local customs and rules. If you have ever been in court with an attorney who knew none of these things you know what we mean. There might be no more helpless feeling than standing next to a lawyer who, though otherwise qualified, has no clue about the preferences of the judge in your case. This lack of knowledge can have a negative affect on the final disposition of your case. The fact is that even those of us who are familiar with all of the judge's preferences can still have them rule against us but it will not be because we did not know something important about the judge.
We offer a free consultation to discuss your legal matter during which all the facets of your case will be thoroughly examined and advice will be offered to you on how to proceed. If you choose to retain us, it will be our goal to provide you with a service that will be of benefit to you and your family.
